Dear Dr. Hasan Mahmud,
ReplyDeleteAssalamu Alaikum
It is my great pleasure to congratulate you for your decisive win in December 29th parliamentary election and becoming state minister for foreign affairs. I am really proud to see a fellow Rangunian achieving this great opportunity to serve our nation. Please accept our entire family’s goodwill and prayers.
As State Minister of Foreign Affairs you now have many responsibilities at the national level but you are also the representative of Rangunia. I am optimistic that steps will be taken to reduce poverty, illiteracy and create sustainable jobs for Rangunian both in Rangunia and in foreign labor markets. I am also hopeful that you will take prudent steps by coordinating foreign policy matters to create new labor markets for Bangladeshi workers around the world. Your real victory will be after five years and we would like to offer our assistance in every possible way to work towards that victory

Dear Dr. Hasan Mahmud,
ReplyDeleteI wish your success as well as success of your government to face multiple challenges like punishment to warcriminals, criminals who involves in 10 truck arm case,3rd Nov.'s 4 leader murder case,17th august case etc. As state Minister environment and forest resources you have to play important role in deciding methods to harness energy from our coal deposits.Coal mining can have devastating environmental impacts.Methane is a potent greenhouse gas released from the coal seams and it is 23 time harmful than co2. Most coal deposit contain pyrite(FeS2),arsenopyrite and other sulfide minerals.Acid Mine Drainage(AMD) Products smothers flora and fauna on riverbed. Acidic water also releases other metals into surfacewater and ground water.Once introduced, may take decades and millions of dollar to improve degradation on land, water, ecosystems and health. There is development of technology that reduce detrimental impacts on coal extrction. No mining is required,no handling and transpotation and no coal burning for power. We can harness energy from coal through UCG(Underground Coal Gasification). We do not have know how of mining but have long experience of gas well drilling. To get gas through UCG process, our own drilling technology can be applied.Underground Coal Gasification practically does not disrupt the surface. The methane gas in coal seams which complicates the underground coal mining and emmited to environment in open pit mining, uses for raising calorific value of extracted gas through UCG.Dr. Md. Khalequzzaman,Professor, Lock Heaven University,USA.Dr. Mark Muller,Int. Consultant,Dr. Badrul Imam of Dhaka University and many other in favour of UCG.People of Phulbari do not want to go any where from there ancestral homes by leaving the grves of their forefather.Shiek Hasina commited to the people of Phulbari that there will be no open pit mine in sept.2006.
